Beautiful Bournemouth is the ideal place for beach babes to tie the knot. Since 2011, couples have been able to hire the Wedding Hut on Bournemouth’s award winning West Cliff Beach for a ceremony and reception planned to the last grain of sand by the experts at Belissimo Wedding Planner.
The ceremony takes place under the driftwood arch just outside the Wedding Hut. You can even book your Wedding Breakfast there too – afternoon tea, fish n chips, a barbecue or a buffet.
Beyond the beach, young and funky types may like to stay in the Urban Beach hotel in nearby Boscombe. A surfers paradise, and a short walk from the pier, guests will love the funky cocktails and mouth-watering breakfast prepared with locally sourced ingredients. It’s a popular place with locals for lunch or dinner and the massive burgers are legendary in the area.
The night before the wedding, sister restaurant Urban Reef offers more refined but equally tasty cuisine, with an emphasis on seafood.
If your guests are fellow beach babes and boarders, we can recommend the surf at Boscombe, Branksome, Canford Cliffs or Sandbanks. Dorset’s defunct surfing reef may have been an expensive mistake but surfers still love to holiday in the Bournemouth area.
For jewellery, it’s got to be Eclectic Mix (pictured). Made in Britain and inspired by the Bournemouth coast, Rebecca Scott the designer and creator behind the brand. She has worked designing for various luxury brands including Garrards, Boodles and Links of London and is obsessed with antique buckles and natural materials. This is occasionwear you can wear again and again.
Of course, the English weather cannot be guaranteed but, after last summer’s heatwave, it stands to reason that more and more brides are shunning expensive venues and foreign jaunts and opting for a sea view in the UK.
