Today we meet Kari and Duke from Michigan and their pup, Marge. This lovely engagement shoot was photographed near their home with beautiful autumnal colours as the backdrop. Kari and Duke love spending time outdoors so it was natural for them to start their engagement shoot in the beautiful Roselle Park. Soon after followed by some intimate images in the urban area of East Grand Rapids.
Thank you to Dionel of The MittenTog for sharing these beautiful images with us. We hope you agree, they’re absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy!
How long have you been together and where did you meet?
Kari: “Duke and I met during our college years. We became friends but never dated. 3 Years later we both found ourselves back in Michigan where we ran into one another at a restaurant in Grand Haven. Duke suggested that we grab dinner and drinks… 4 years later, we are saying ‘I do’.”
Tell us about your proposal?
“I could not have written a better start to our life together. We were at Pictured Rocks camping. We had driven through the night (well Duke drove), set up our camp site and immediately decided to take in our surroundings and go for a hike. Almost 20 minutes in, I was looking out over the Lake Michigan, I turned around and Duke was on one knee. I fell to mine and immediately accepted! It was just the two of us for the next couple of days, it was perfect.”
Can you reveal anything about your wedding?
“We have been engaged for almost 2 years, so I have really been able to focus on the details! I would describe our wedding as soft and romantic with a very urban vibe. But you’ll see for yourself in 18 days!”
