Today we head to Chicago for the beautiful wedding of Lauren and Jonathan in the summer sun! This took place at Hotel Arista and photographed by Lisa Kay Creative Photography. We hope you gain plenty of inspiration from this wedding!
Lisa of Lisa Kay Photographed added, “Lauren and Jonathan are the sweetest couple ever! They met in high school and have been inseparable ever since. When they were planning their long-awaited wedding, they knew it was going to be everything they always dreamed of. The bride was stunning in her beaded bodice cinderella wedding gown, surrounded by her sister and 5 of her best friends in beautiful light pink matching bridesmaid dresses. The groom was handsome in his grey tuxedo and the support of his brother and 5 of his “boys,” cigars in hand. The catholic ceremony was gorgeous as light poured into the windows. A funny moment came after the ring exchange, as catholic priests do not specifically say “you may kiss the bride” so Jonathan looked around as both him and Lauren erupted in laughter. They did get to seal their vows. The beautiful reception at Naperville’s gorgeous boutique Hotel Arista has hot pink uplighting and each table was named “Love” in different languages throughout the room. The dance floor was full the entire night, it was quite a party. The night ended with the Bruges Brothers Food Truck showing up to feed the hungry dancers. Beautiful night, beautiful couple.”
Your love story
Lauren, “We are high school sweethearts. We dated for about 10 years before getting engaged. I wanted to finish my MBA and we wanted to save money, have stable jobs and buy a condo before getting married and we were able to do all of that! Jon surprised me with a trip to Galena, where I used to go on many family trips as a kid, where he proposed. My favorite part of the proposal that he told me afterwards was that took the ring over to my parent’s house, asked for their blessing and explained to them that he would protect me and love me forever. He explained to them that we hope to be just like them in 30+ years!”
How did you arrange your wedding?
“We both made many of the decisions for the wedding but I would definitely say me more than him, though.”
What did you both wear?
“Jon wore a light grey tux with an ivory vest and tie and I wore the dress I always dreamed of. It was 10 layers of beauty. All beading on the top with a large princess bottom.”
What venue did you choose?
“We got married at St. Francis of Assisi Church in on Bolingbrook and Hotel Arista in Naperville. When we saw both locations, we knew they were perfect for our wedding.”
Was the day how you imagined?
“Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. It was the fastest but best day of our lives.”
What advice would you give to other couples?
“Don’t stress the little things, it will all come together. Plus if something goes wrong, know one ever knows but you.”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We are still in the process of planning our honeymoon. We have had to change our location several times due to the Zika virus and the resort closing down for a month!”
